Resource: Update to SAMHSA Data Dashboard

SAMHSA recently updated their NSDUH State Estimates for substance use outcomes with 2016-2017 data. Check out their dashboard here! More information below:

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) updated their data dashboard, which displays US, state-level, and sub-state results for their National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH). NSDUH differs from other population health surveys that CDPHE utilizes to monitor behavioral health trends (such as the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and Healthy Kids Colorado). NSDUH provides more detailed data on frequency of the frequency of substance use, use disorders, treatment needs, and other mental health conditions for adults and children aged 12 and over. Due to the smaller sample size, state-level and sub-state results are aggregated for multiple years. This dashboard is easy to use and displays trend data for many indicators of interest.
