Position duties
Manages grants for a portion of the state which includes analyzing and overseeing grantees budgets, compliance with grant requirements, authorizing cash requests, and approving quarterly reports. Evaluates grantees' progress of their projects/programs and determines whether to approve or deny a grantee's requests for funds. Authorizes appropriate expenditures and authorizes or denies budget modifications. Anticipates the needs and concerns of grantees and develops strategies to address those concerns. Recommends needed changes to grantees and provides training and technical assistance to help them implement those changes. Provides individual technical assistance and regional workshops for grant applicants and recipients to ensure statewide compliance with complex federal and state grant guidelines, rules and regulations. Conducts desk and site visits with grantees to monitor compliance with financial and programmatic regulations. Evaluates program compliance with state and federal rules and policies to determine strategies to address concerns, recommends changes and establishes timelines for compliance. Assists with special projects or solicitations as appropriate to identify potential gaps in victim services that could be addressed through federal grant funding.

Analyzes applications for compliance with complex state and federal rules, guidelines, and priorities; clarifies and interprets board processes and corresponds appropriately with applicants. Assists with the production of program documents, forms, charts and correspondence. Helps in the development of the announcement of funds, makes funding recommendations, conducts application reviews, and conducts award and reconsideration processes related to the four grant programs.
