State Rep. Jonathan Singer, D-Longmont, will host a Thursday night town hall meeting in Longmont where people can learn more about what the opioid drug-abuse crisis looks like in Boulder County and how that problem is being addressed.

The meeting, which is open to the public, is set for 6 p.m. Thursday at Silver Creek High School, 4901 Nelson Road, Longmont.

Singer and town hall organizers said attendees can learn about the statewide relevance of the opioid crisis, get information about opioid abuse and other kinds of substance abuse and options for people wanting to seek treatment for substance abuse.

The town hall program is to include panelists from Boulder County Public Health, the Colorado Department of Law, Longmont's Public Safety Department, the Colorado Consortium for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention, Clinica Family Health, the Redpoint Center and other agencies and organizations.
