Maybe it was a family member, a friend, or a cashier at a convenience store.
If not today, then at some point in your life, you’ve met someone that has dealt with the pain, the emotional distress, and countless other long-term effects of sexual assault or abuse.
You might not know this about them; they might not ever tell you. But we know that 1 in 2 women and 1 in 4 men in Colorado have experienced sexually violent crimes in their lifetime.
In April, we remember those victimized with Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and Child Abuse Prevention Month (CAPM). Tu Casa and their community partners are once again hard at work with this year’s campaign, seeking to raise public awareness about preventing sexual violence among individuals and in the community. This year’s campaign also seeks to spread information on healthy sexuality.
